Communication
Center Assessment
This service is
designed to assist public safety agencies in
identifying ways to improve services provided by
their communication center. The assessment includes
a review of hiring methods, training programs,
operational policies and procedures, technical
systems, and supervision/management practices. It
includes conducting interviews with both
communication officers and supervisors/managers of
the communication center. Interviews may also be
conducted with public safety agency personnel that
receive services from the communication center. A
summary report is compiled with the results of the
review and provides specific recommendations for
improving communication center operations.
Consolidation of Communication Centers
This service
assists agencies in determining the feasibility
and/or planning for the consolidation of
communication centers. When determining feasibility
several areas are studied including operational
impact, technical considerations, personnel issues,
and cost. If consolidation is determined to be
appropriate, project management assistance is also
offered.
Mediation Services
Mediation services
are available to assist agencies in resolving issues
and conflict between individuals and/or groups.
The goal of mediation is to guide the involved
individuals and/or groups to mutually satisfying
resolutions. Mediation can be key to improving
interpersonal relations and operations. It can also
prevent formal grievances and/or litigation against
an agency.
